The product description states that an alarm sound made by the item indicates that the circuit breaker has tripped off. After the circuit breaker trips, it will reset automatically within 3 to 5 seconds. If the item is still connected to the testing object and the power switch is kept pressed down, the circuit breaker will repeat the process of tripping and resetting automatically.

The operation instructions are as follows:

1. Quick self-test:
2. Unroll the unit's cable.
3. Clamp the red clip to the positive terminal of the vehicle's battery.
4. Clamp the black clip to the negative terminal of the vehicle's battery.
5. Press the front part ("－") of the power switch, and the LED indicator should light up RED.

6. Press the rear part ("="), and the LED indicator should light up GREEN.

7. Polarity testing:

8. Contacting the probe's tip to a positive (+) circuit will light the LED indicator RED.
9. Contacting the probe's tip to a negative (－) circuit will light the LED indicator GREEN.

10. Contacting the probe's tip to an open circuit will be indicated by the LED indicator being off.

11. Continuity testing:

12. Use the probe tip together with the auxiliary ground lead to test continuity on wires and components disconnected from the vehicle's electrical system.
13. When continuity is present, the LED indicator will light up GREEN.

14. Do not press the power switch.

15. Activating components out of the vehicle's electrical system:

16. Use the probe tip together with the auxiliary ground lead to activate components and test their function.
17. Connect the auxiliary ground lead's clip to the negative terminal of the component to be tested.

18. Contact the probe to the positive terminal of the component, and the LED indicator should light up GREEN, indicating continuity through the component.

19. Testing trailer lamps and connections:

20. Connect the unit to a good battery.
21. Clip the clip of the auxiliary ground lead to the trailer ground.

22. Probe the contacts at the jack while pressing the power switch's front part ("－"), which lets you check the function and orientation of the trailer lamps.

23. Activating electrical components:

24. To activate components with positive (+) voltage, contact the probe tip to the positive terminal of the component, and the LED indicator should light up GREEN. Quickly press and release the power switch's front part ("－") to check if the component is functioning properly.

25. To activate electrical components with negative (－) voltage, follow a similar process.

26. Jumper lead feature:

27. The black clip and the auxiliary ground lead are connected directly through the unit, allowing it to be used as a long jumper lead.

28. Be careful to avoid short circuits and overloading when using this jumper function, as the leads are not protected by the unit's circuit breaker.

29. Checking for bad ground contacts:

30. Probe the suspected ground wire or contact with the probe tip.
31. Observe the green LED indicator.
32. Press the power switch's front part ("－") and then release.
33. If the LED indicator changes from GREEN to RED, this is not a true ground.

34. If the unit sounds, this circuit is more than likely a direct ground.
