Power Probe III Circuit Tester for Mechanics

Use the probe tip and ground lead simultaneously to power up components right in your hand. Instantly check components for continuity as well as identify positive, negative and open circuits without re-polarizing hook-up clips. Locate shorts without wasting fuses.

The Power Probe 3 uses a 20ft cable which attaches to the vehicle's battery, allowing the user to perform an electrical test anywhere in, or around the vehicle. It is a Voltmeter and Continuity Tester, with Audible & Visual indicators along with two LED headlights to light up your work area. This circuit tester also supplies Battery Voltage or Ground to activate components. The housing is sleek and feels great in your hand, making it a powerful time-saver tool perfect for every level of technician.

The Power Probe 3 features the ability to power up components, audible tones, a voltmeter with a 12-24 volt range, a bad ground indicator, a short circuit indicator, and a relay and component tester. In Power Probe Mode, contact the probe tip to a NEGATIVE circuit, and the green negative sign "-" LED will light, and a low-pitched tone will sound. Contact the probe tip to a POSITIVE circuit, and the red positive sign "+" LED will light, and the voltage reading of the circuit will be indicated on the LCD display, with a high-pitched tone sounding.

To use the Power Probe 3, connect it to a good battery, clip the auxiliary ground clip to the trailer ground, and probe the contacts at the jack, then apply voltage to them. This lets you check the function and orientation of the connector and trailer lights. If the circuit breaker tripped, that contact is likely a ground, and you can reset the circuit breaker by letting it cool down (15 sec.) and depressing the reset button until it clicks into place.
